Wild- und Freizeitpark Klotten

The Wild- und Freizeitpark Klotten sits beside the Mosel in the small town of Klotten, Rheinland-Pfalz. Opened in 1970 as a wildlife park by the Hennes family, it grew into a mixed attraction under Josef and Hubert Hennes after 1996. The first big ride, the roller-coaster Die heiße Fahrt, arrived in 2004, followed by the record-breaking Wildwasserbahn Zum Rittersturz in 2012. The park covers 300 000 m² and once housed European wolves, now moved to another sanctuary. A planned restaurant has not yet been built.
The park’s main draw is the high-speed Wildwasserbahn Zum Rittersturz, Germany’s steepest at 56° and fastest at 75 km/h, reaching 25 m in height. Families also enjoy the 2003-renovated bear enclosure and the gentle horse-riding ring. Younger children find the Kidi Bob bob-sled coaster and the giant trampolines especially appealing. Thrill-seekers can try the looping Star or the Klottiturm drop tower, while water lovers slide down the Riesen-Rutsche or splash in the Wildwasser-Rondell.
Paths wind past the Streichelzoo petting area and the Barfußpfad barefoot trail. A steam engine and a working farm give a glimpse of rural life, while the Seilbahn cable-car offers views across the valley. The Schlauchboot-Wasserrutsche flume and the Abenteuerbauernhof adventure farm keep visitors busy all day.
