Pfarrkirche Eggerding

The parish church of Eggerding stands in the village of Eggerding in Upper Austria. It is a Gothic building dedicated to Saint Margaret and protected as a historic monument. The church belongs to the Andorf deanery within the Diocese of Linz.
The church’s history reaches back to at least the late 15th century, when the present structure was built. A wooden group depicting the baptism of Christ from the mid-18th century survives in the church. The tower, completed in 1900, houses a popular Christmas carol composed by a former parish priest.
Inside, the single-aisled nave has a star-shaped ribbed vault. The two-bay choir ends in a five-sided apse with matching vaulting. Late Gothic buttresses line the exterior walls. Paintings by Jacob Zeiller from about 1771 adorn the vault and side chapels. A Lourdes grotto and a mission cross stand in the churchyard.
