St. Georgenberg-Fiecht is a Benedictine monastery in Tirol. The original site sits on a rocky outcrop called Georgenberg, rising about a hundred metres above the Stallental valley near Stans. The abbey began as a hermitage in the 10th century, founded by Blessed Rathold of Aibling. By the 11th century it had become a well-established monastery, receiving donations from Albuin, Bishop of Brixen, and Emperor Henry IV. In 1138 Reginbert, Bishop of Brixen, turned it into a Benedictine abbey. After a fire in 1705 the monks moved to Fiecht in the Inn valley, where they stayed until returning to St. Georgenberg in 2019.

The abbey is notable for its Baroque church at Fiecht, designed by craftsmen from the Wessobrunn School. Franz Xaver Feuchtmayer the Elder and his brother Michael worked on the stucco interiors, while Matthäus Günther painted frescoes. The church’s trompe-l'œil façade remains modest outside but impresses inside. The site also holds a Gothic Pietà sculpture from about 1415 and the reliquary of the Holy Blood. Pilgrimages began around 1100 and grew after a reported ‘blood miracle’ in about 1310.

Visitors find two churches on the mountain. The main Baroque church, dedicated to Saints George and James, was rebuilt after the 1705 fire and completed in 1735. Nearby stands the Lindenkirche, a small Romanesque church with a preserved porch. A high bridge, the Hohe Brücke, provides easier access to the monastery. Pilgrims often take the scenic route through the Wolfsklamm gorge from Stans. The site remains a place of pilgrimage and spiritual retreat.
