Pfarrkirche Überackern

The parish church of Überackern stands in the village of the same name in Upper Austria. It is a Roman Catholic church dedicated to Saint Peter, surrounded by a cemetery under Denkmalschutz. The present Gothic building was constructed between 1480 and 1486 by Master Ulrich Zirnstainer.
The church is worth visiting for its well-preserved Gothic architecture and later additions. The exterior features a tiled roof, a west tower with clocks and spire added in the 19th century, and an oil-berry group. Inside, the ribbed vaults, late-medieval west gallery, and Baroque high altar draw attention. The chancel holds late-Gothic medallions of the Evangelists and 15th-century wall paintings.
Visitors find a single-nave church with three bays, a two-bay choir ending in three sides, and a sacristy with segment-headed windows. The high altar shows a 17th-century painting of Christ and Peter on the sea. Side altars, a pulpit with Moses scenes, and statues of saints stand along the walls. A pink marble font and a 1928 organ complete the interior.
