The late-baroque parish church of St Sigismund stands in Strobl on the western shore of the Wolfgangsee. It was begun in 1758 under Archbishop Sigismund III Christoph von Schrattenbach, who chose the patron saint whose name he shared. The building was completed by the master’s foreman Andrä Hueber and consecrated on 3 May 1761.

Its importance lies in the almost complete set of late-baroque furnishings still in place. The high-altar painting by Benedikt Werkstätter shows the saint with the Holy Trinity above clouds. Two statues by Sebastian Eberl flank the altar, and Lorenz Hörmbler carved the tabernacle and its silvered cover. The left side-altar holds the image of Our Lady of Good Counsel from Genazzano, while the right side-altar depicts St Francis de Sales by Peter Anton Lorenzoni.

Inside, the visitor finds a single rectangular nave under a shallow vault. The organ loft at the rear holds the present instrument installed in 2003 by Felsberg Orgelbau. Plain pews line the sides, and daylight enters through tall windows with simple iron grilles. The church’s white walls and gilded accents give a calm, unified impression throughout.
