Scheibenberg

The Scheibenberg is a western subsidiary summit of the Jochgrabenberg near Pressbaum in Lower Austria. It rises to 614 metres above sea level and forms part of a ridge that includes the Kaiserbrunnberg and the Jochgrabenberg. The ridge is flanked by many smaller hills such as the Reisenberg, Zwickelberg and Steinhutberg. Mixed deciduous woods cover much of the area, broken by open meadows and occasional arable fields.

The Scheibenberg sits on the main Alpine ridge, marking a clear boundary in the landscape. Below its southern slopes, open grassland stretches southwestwards towards the villages of Hochstraß and Schwabendörfl. These meadows contrast with the surrounding woodland and provide wide views across the surrounding countryside. The transition between forest and open land creates a varied habitat for wildlife.

Visitors find quiet forest paths leading to the summit, where the Alpine ridge becomes visible. The summit itself is grassy and offers panoramic views of Pressbaum and the Wienerwald. The contrast between dense woodland and open meadows is striking. The ridge walk connects several small peaks, each with its own outlook. The area is ideal for short hikes and nature observation.
